So a few weeks ago I won the Orange County Throwdown,… I got a bunch of prizes for doing this. The people from Barlean’s Organic Oils gave me a bunch of fish oil and other stuff.
I already have my selection of fish oil picked out,… that I take off and on. So this bag of goodies just sat in my closet…. Well today 3-1-11 is Don’s birthday so I decided to just give him the fish oil as a birthday present,… a regift: perfect for the busy person who doesn’t have time to think about what to buy someone else. Sorry Don.
Well I just walked into the gym and Nina told me that Don, seen the gift, and left it. I asked why and she said it had to do with the ingredients. Barlean’s “organic oils” contains ingredients such as soy lecithin, ascorbyl palmitate (i have no idea what this is), FreshLok (this is a trademarked ingredient, obviously man made), ascorbic acid (manmade substance made from waste into a chemical that is supposed to act like vitamin C,… but isn’t the same) and d-alpha tocopherol (which again is unheard of to me).
I smiled when I learned that Don rejected my gift.
-He knows better
-He figured out it was a regift
-And even though it was free,… just like he refused to take it.
I didn’t even get so far as to look at the ingredients because I was already certain I would never take this supplement.
But I was blown away when I read the ingredients. But Don’s behavior is representative of his commitment to his healthy lifestyle free of the bullshit most food companies put in our food. This awareness is necessary to strive because we are literally bombarded by chemicals and additives that will destroy us
Anyways,… The reason for this story is that I am having my friends Matt and Ben come to the gym on Thursday for the 4:30 and 6:00pm class with supps from Stronger Faster Healthier. This is really the only supplement company I trust and we will start carrying there stuff by next week. They will probably workout during one of those classes. But if you want to try out there stuff come by thursday during one of those class times. They will have fish oil samples along with some of the shakes
On another note:
Nina is going to start having people do this stuff:
Here is this guy’s blog: Ido’s Blog
